An Educational Opportunity for Clinicians Specializing in the diagnosis of
Clostridium difficile Infections

CME

Release Date: November 25, 2014
Expiration Date: November 25, 2016

Statement of Need

The epidemiology and incidence of hospital- and community-acquired CDI have changed over the past decade. The selection of initial and sequential therapy must account for indices of disease severity. As such, primary care providers must be familiar with diagnostic parameters, guidelines, and treatment approaches to reduce complications and improve clinical outcomes.

Method of Participation

This Formative Assessment includes four modules: General Disease Overview, Management Approaches, Severe-complicated CDI, and Recurrent CDI. Each module can be completed independently of the others as credit is awarded upon completion of EACH module. Steps for completion include:

  1. Pre-Assessment: complete a short series of questions and see your performance (as a %), as well as how your peers performed on the same module

  2. Participate in the recommended education tailored to provide targeted learning in your areas of improvement.

  3. Post-Assessment: reassess your performance on the module, and achieve 70% or greater to receive credit

  4. Evaluation

Each module will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete, and a certificate will be immediately available upon completion of each module.
